Kelvin Hall | A McLaughlin & Harvey Project
Working with appointed contractor Balfour Beatty, King Communications & Security are making headway in the refurbishment and upgrade of Glasgow’s iconic Kelvin Hall. Upon completion, the new and improved site will host a sports and cultural centre, library and museum which will feature Glasgow University’s Hunterian Collection as well as Glasgow Museum’s collections. The project is targeted to achieve a BREEAM sustainability ‘very good’ rating following the refurbishment.
The £60 million project is being funded by Glasgow City Council, Glasgow University, Glasgow Life, Heritage Lottery, Historic Scotland and National Libraries of Scotland. A substantial investment in creating a vibrant new attraction in the historical West End of Glasgow and a welcome contribution to the city’s diverse cultural and tourism offering. Part of the facility is also set to become Scotland’s largest public gym space.
