IP Video management systems offer many more benefits than traditional systems. IP cameras have been developed so that each camera acts as a device on a network with its own IP address. IP cameras do not need to be cabled back to controlling equipment, they only need to be connected to the closest network connection. Compression technology has also advanced making IP CCTV future proof.

IPCCTV can provide higher resolution images than a traditional analogue system. Installation cost and time and maintenance costs can be reduced. IPCCTV also allows scalability as any new camera can be easily connected to the nearest access point on the network rather than having to install new cables.

IPCCTV can also be integrated with other building service systems such as access control or door entry systems so that it is possible to view the associated CCTV footage that coincides with a specific event.

Features & Benefits

Traditional analogue surveillance technology - CCTV has been used for over 20 years and is now increasingly being replaced by the more efficient IP technology surveillance solutions.

CCTV users now face a choice...

Between a new modern digital IP Surveillance system, delivering quality digital images that can be viewed and stored anywhere in the world over a computer network.

Or replacing your existing traditional analogue system, which provides low-resolution images with restricted viewing access and includes storage equipment that deteriorates with age.

Advantages of IP CCTV over Traditional Systems

Existing Systems

Hybrid networks will allow analogue systems to run alongside IP systems in complete harmony. With digital converters it is also possible to utilise an Analogue cameras into an IP network. The converter will provide the IP address for... read more...

Usage or Re-usage of the Existing Network Infrastructure

By using the existing network infrastructure installation time should be reduced as well as the on-going maintenance costs. By using the network any new cameras need only to be connected to the nearest access point. Traditionally a new cable would have to be run from the new camera to the control equipment. IP CCTV by default provides advanced flexibility.

Control Multiple Sites from a Single Location

IP CCTV Systems can now be designed so that they allow communication, administration and monitoring of several sites from a remote location. This is especially useful for larger multi-site organisations that would like to consolidate security functions.

Tight Integration into Other Systems such as Access Control and Intruder Alarms

Being based on Software makes integration easier. This offers client’s single click access to the information from many systems pulled together into a single accessible library of information. For example in Access Control Integration it is possible to click on a door open event and view the associated CCTV image of the person opening the door.

Intelligence at the Front End

IP Cameras are more intelligent than their analogue predecessors. Movement detection and camera setup is stored with the camera rather than at the main control equipment. This allows savings on the bandwidth and also saves the main control unit having to do all the work.

Improved Picture Quality

By using digital cameras, digital images and digital transmission the quality of images is far higher than previous systems.

Software Controls & Access

Using software control it is possible to restrict access to areas of buildings and also to specific camera's. This can be done for single users or for groups of users.

Control Room Monitoring and Event management

With IP systems it is still possible to have control room monitoring from certified ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre). They can provide 24hr, 365 days cover to your premises using event monitoring and perimeter protection.

Software Upgrade Path

With traditional systems the limiting factor was the number of cameras that can be connected to the control equipment. This is no longer the case. Cameras are independent on the network and do not connect to control equipment. If there is central monitoring software then additional license can be purchased or software upgrade performed.
